Textural blue green hanging, 69 x 39 cm.
Medium weight, hand-woven in linen and cotton with a woven border. Shows brioche knitting with characteristic sunken channels and ridges, plus, on the right, the knit symbols for the technique used in knitting charts.
The knitting takes the form of a landscape, with furrows and ridges of a ploughed field, and clouds in sky above.
Marie Antoinette is rumoured to have proclaimed “Let them Eat brioche’. I like to think ‘Let them knit brioche’ which makes a warm squishy insulating knit.
