Next Classes start 24th October and run until 5th December 2017: Tuesday afternoons: 14.00–16.30;
These classes are open for beginners and more experienced weavers, using studio equipment and materials. There are a multiple of things to discover in the weaving world, different qualities of yarn, fibre and weave structure combine to produce an infinity of different effects and uses. The classes encourage exploration.
Beginners who want to try weaving for the first time will weave their own handwoven sampler of different weaves. On completion and having gained confidence with the techniques, they work on a project of their own. All materials supplied. Over the session they will experience the process of setting up a loom from the start.
More experienced weavers will refresh and develop knowledge and skills through focussing on an area of interest. With guidance, students can choose a topic to study on the loom in-depth using a range of studio materials. Or they may choose to work on their own special project knowing help is at hand. The studio will supply materials for smaller projects.
Students will weave on an 8 shaft loom allocated to them for the session. If you wish to bring your own loom, please get in touch.
Fee: £200 for the 8 week session includes materials for sample weaving and beginner projects, and use of equipment.
There is some flexibility in dates and times, if you are interested in what is on offer please get in touch.
